Job Description

Nevada State (NS) invites applications for the position of Student Financials Technical Systems Analyst. The Student Financials Technical Systems Analyst provides IT application analysis and support for the Student Financial Services department, including PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and other software products. As the functional lead for the Student Financials module of PeopleSoft, this position will represent the department in the NSHE shared instance users' group (ASG) and at all meetings related to the implementation and maintenance of PeopleSoft. The incumbent will perform complex, professional level duties in the analysis, evaluation, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of computer system applications specific to the functional needs of Student Financial Services.

Core Responsibilities:

Operations and Support
  • Maintain system setup.
  • Monitor scheduled system processes.
  • Resolve process issues.
  • Create custom queries.
  • Automate processes or generate audit reports to ensure the accuracy and completeness of system processes.
  • Manage and test business resolutions and system bundles and patches.
  • Create and run automated scripts for student communications.
  • Produce data reports.
  • Create automated jobs for recurring processing functions.

Technical Project Management
  • Manage the life cycle of system fixes, enhancements, and projects for various systems.
  • Handle overall project management-impact assessments.
  • Developing schedules.
  • Coordinating with functional and technical resources.
  • Developing written requirements documents.
  • Testing and preparing necessary documentation for system users.

Business Process Optimization
  • Analyze process and date inputs and outputs that comprise the student information systems processes.
  • Recommend and implement solutions to increase efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of systems data. Solutions may involve creating training opportunities, implementing a business process change, enhancing systems/reporting, or a combination thereof.

Training and Documentation
  • Document business process flows, user processes and procedures for the PeopleSoft Student Financials module.
  • Develop and maintain training and documentation for ease of reference by users.
  • Create and maintain business process guides (BPGs) for all essential processing functions.

Other
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the operations of the Student Financial Services department and the institution.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or related field, or 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 2 years of related experience.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (NSC does not sponsor employment-related visas).
  • Database architecture and management systems knowledge.
  • Enterprise student information systems design, implementation, and management knowledge and experience.
  • SQL knowledge and experience.
  • An understanding of key business functions in higher education student financial services.
  • Creative ability and experience in addressing technological, organizational and services challenges.
  • Ability to translate business process redesign and automation into administrative efficiencies.
  • Ability and experience in aligning data, policies, workflows, and information systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, specifically with respect to documentation of technical processes, presentation of ideas and plans, and project participation.

  • Oracle database architecture and management systems knowledge.
  • PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Financials experience.

Salary & Benefits

Budgeted salary for this position is $70,000. Nevada State College offers excellent benefits, including 15.50% retirement match, 24 annual leave days, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 11 paid holidays, educational benefits, and the choice of three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
