Grinder Operator

Run grinding machines using work instructions, blue prints, and customer data. Setup grinding machines, may inspect work of other machine shop personnel, program machines as required, and perform machine maintenance as required.

Must be able to operate assigned grinding machines, must be able to assist other machine shop personnel. Must be able to follow instructions on work orders and planning machining setups

Work from setup sheets, prints, program tapes, grinding machine and instructions:

• Operate machine, load and unload parts following machine cycle, check work for required operations and specifications and place finished parts on skid.
• Monitor machine for proper operation, add oil to reservoir and replace tools as necessary.
• Prepare job tickets, scrap, and daily production records.
• Notify Group Leader of unusual machine or material problems.
• Stack and move material as required.

Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Must be able to use grinding machines, inspection tools, must be able to interpret blue prints. Must be able to follow company quality and work order instructions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 – 50 lbs frequently.

2. Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.

3. Stand and walk for 8-10 hours per day.

4. Ability to work in a 55 – 85-degree Fahrenheit work environment.

5. Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection and other appropriate protective clothing.

6. Pay increased on experience! Starting $12 for no experience (test will be needed)
