VACANCY FOR 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR
TITLE: Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor
CLASSIFICATION: Certified
LOCATION: Prosser Career Education Center
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and Experience in:

Electrical Theory as it relates to alternating and direct current.
-
Ohms Law and related calculations.
-
Motors, Theory and application.
-
Motor Control Systems.
-
Hand and Mechanical Conduit Bending.
-
Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Wiring Systems.
-
The National Electrical Code.
-
Minimum 4 Years in related occupation.
-
Degree preferred but not required.
-
Completion of a Federally Approved Apprenticeship preferred.
-
Journeyman or Master Electrical License in Kentucky and/or Indiana required. Must be able to provide evidence of licensure, and licensing exam results. Candidates who were grandfathered into licensure will be required to sit for an electrical exam to confirm eligibility.

Demonstrated interest in working with youth.

Competent in math, verbal, and written skills.

Teaching experience preferred.

Such alternatives to the above as the Administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Teach all aspects of the Electrical Apprenticeship program.
-
Participate in the Construction Trades Project House.
-
Support and participate in Skills USA club activities at the local, regional, state, and national level.
-
Be responsible for the maintenance of materials, supplies, equipment, and facilities used in the program classrooms and labs.
-
Maintain active Craft Advisory Board.
-
Interact with local industry support businesses, and work to secure Job Shadowing, Micro-Internship, and Internship opportunities for student experiences.

Participate in the Open House event annually to promote the program.
-
Demonstrates knowledge of subject matter and current educational practices; utilizes varied instructional strategies and activities.
-
Establishes, communicates and encourages high standards of student performance.
-
Monitors, assesses, and provides appropriate feedback of student performance and progress.
-
Keeps attendance reports.
-
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
-
Performs non-instructional duties affecting the school program.
-
Implements school policy and pertinent law.
-
Participates in professional development activities; Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.

Prepares teaching outline for course of student, assigns lessons, and corrects homework papers.
-
Administers tests to evaluate student’s progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress.
-
Maintains discipline in the classroom, school building and school grounds.
-
Performs related duties, such as sponsoring one or more special activities or student organizations, assisting students in selecting course of study, and counsels them in adjustment and academic problems.

Performs other related duties as assigned by the Principal and/or other designee.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
