Primary Function: We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Project Manager to lead and coordinate various projects within New America's Development team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Salesforce and Asana, possess excellent project management skills, and demonstrate a keen understanding of fundraising processes and event development. The role involves overseeing both short and long-term projects, tracking fundraising targets, managing cultivation activities, and identifying new opportunities for growth. The Project Manager will report directly to the Deputy Director of Development.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
- Develop and manage detailed donor, fundraising initiative, cultivation and stewardship project plans using Salesforce and Asana, ensuring all tasks and milestones are clearly defined and with next steps.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute development projects on time and within scope.
- Regularly communicate project status, issues, and risks to internal stakeholders.
2. Fundraising Goals and Milestones Tracking:
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive system for tracking fundraising goals and milestones.
- Work closely with the Development team to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Generate regular reports on fundraising progress and performance. Produce dashboards for the Executive Team to regularly report on fundraising progress.
- Evaluate cultivation event success and identify areas for improvement.
- Present budget vs. actuals, revenue projections, and fundraising performance metrics.
- Work with the finance team to provide accurate and up-to-date financial reports related to fundraising activities.
3. Donor Prospect and Opportunity Tracking:
- With the fundraising team, utilize Salesforce to track fundraising prospects, cultivation activities, and new opportunities.
- Collaborate with the team to develop strategies for engaging and converting prospects into donors.
- Manage and track cultivation and stewardship donor events in Salesforce and in collaboration with New America’s gift officers.
- Regularly audit and update donor profiles and records in Salesforce to ensure accuracy and completeness.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
- Provide support, when needed, for team meetings and training sessions
- Work with the finance team to provide accurate and up-to-date financial reports related to fundraising activities.
5. Risk Management:
- Proactively identify and assess potential risks to fundraising projects and timelines.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
- Maintain a risk register for fundraising pipeline and update it regularly.
- Present budget vs. actuals, revenue projections, and fundraising performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in project management, preferably within a fundraising or development context.
- Proficiency in Salesforce and Asana, with a strong understanding of their functionalities.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with an attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience in nonprofit fundraising and development.
- Knowledge of best practices in event planning and execution.
