New Beginnings Child Care is a licensed ministry child care program looking for a dedicated individual to serve as the Director. Competitive pay based on education and experience. Facility is located in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop, deliver and manage child care program.
· Ensure safe, developmentally appropriate environment provided for the children.
· Ensure all licensing requirements met and maintained.
· Manage all staff, schedules, and record keeping not limited to attendance, medical, legal, and developmental records.
· Ensure teachers have access to needed support including but not limited to training, tools, and supplies.
· Maintain positive relationships with the staff, parents, and governing board.
· Ensure student ratios maintained.
· Ensure required daily duties within program are being completed, assisting others with those duties as needed or providing other means for completion.
· Ensure all financial information is relayed to book keeper as needed.
· Ensure staff and student files are being maintained.
· Cover breaks for teachers if needed.
· Address any need within the program as need arises, and/or connect with appropriate resource to troubleshoot and problem solve.
· Maintain regular communication on Brightwheel, via phone and/or in person with parents and teachers.
Additional Knowledge, Skill, and Experience:
· Understanding of how child care center operates, including knowledge of ratios, staff, children, and families.
· Working knowledge of each staff member’s role.
· Familiarity with CCDF Voucher Program, Paths to Quality, and other child care related programs as needed.
· Conflict Resolution, problem solving and decision making, and observation skills.
· Highly motivated to complete tasks independently and with others.
· Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Readiness for potential needs and creative solutions for meeting needs as they arise.
· Ability to work well in stressful situations and lead others through high stress situations.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer experience/skills.
· Ability to learn new programs, methods, etc. as needed.
· This is a full-time, salaried position. Schedule is primarily Monday – Friday and requires some occasional evening and weekend hours. With exception of special trainings and meetings, the Director will work in-person at the child care center.
· Must be available to meet with parents, teachers, and others as needed.
· Must be available and prepare monthly reports for board meeting.
· Duties are subject to change as needs arise.
· Must be flexible to provide for needs as they arise.
· Must clear full background check and pass health screening.
Requirements:
1. Child Development Associate credential, Early Childhood or equivalent degree
2. Strong work ethic
3. Ability to multi-task and handle stressful situations
4. Experience in a child care setting.
5. Supervisory experience
6. CPR/First Aid certification
7. Proficiency with Microsoft Office
