Vocational Counselor

This position is a TN Visa sponsored position. Candidates must meet the specific TN visa guidelines in order to be considered.

Vocational Counselors coordinate and implement innovative vocational services for students aged 14 years or older. Through direct observation and interactions, they are able to contribute to the development of comprehensive vocational plans for our students that allow us to identify their strength and build on their abilities.  Vocational Counselors work with a team of professionals and also assist our students in mastering all skills needed to achieve independence, including self-care, communication and social skills, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• TN Visa sponsored by NECC (must have citizenship supporting the requirements of a TN Visa) 
• Bachelor’s degree
• Willingness to help students who engage in challenging behaviors
• Must be able to communicate and provide verbal instruction clearly with our students
• Valid Driver’s License with reliable vehicle
• CPR training completion through NECC within 6 months of employment
• Successful completion of NECC training - Physical and Verbal De-escalation training (CALM) and Medication Administration training (ability to get MAP Certified)
