What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at New Flyer of America?
Responsible for managing and reporting of Transit Bus contribution margin. Work closely with Sales on projecting of profitability on bids and options and support of all audit requests and work with CPM on maintaining SRCR approval and reporting. Assist Financial Reporting Manager with maintenance of costs, cost setting and updates and variance analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (list in order of importance)
1. Daily pricing and quoting of parts for KMG
2. Prepare Buy American Certificates and Reporting
3. Preparation of the Sales and Margin reporting Weekly/Monthly
4. Oversee and manage the preparation of various financial and non-financial reports for the business
5. Support Financial Reporting Manager with costing related functions
6. Financial statement analysis and related report outs
7. Manage preparation of all cost/price audit requirements
8. Identify cost reduction initiatives and assist with data and analysis to support organizational initiatives
9. Participate in and support various organizational and departmental projects
10. Provide Finance operational support for all the Transit bus locations and aftermarket
11. Assist in the development of the annual budget and monitoring performance against budget
12. Ad hoc reporting and analysis, as required
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in process improvements and other system projects within the Finance department
2. Promote financial awareness and education throughout the Bus Business
3. Provide input, insight and analysis to support operational decision making
4. Represent Finance on cross functional teams, as required
Experience/Knowledge (Required Experience/Knowledge Only)
Background in Finance/Management Accounting, Bills of materials, variance analysis.
