Purpose of Job:

The purpose of this position is to improve the overall health of the communities we serve by collaboratively working with staff to provide pharmacy services at NEW Health in accordance with policies, procedures and regulations of the NEW Health Board of Directors and administration as listed below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reviews prescriptions issued by a Physician or authorized prescribers to assure accuracy and appropriateness.
• Counsels patients on proper use and storage of medication, side effects, and drug interactions
• Directs pharmacy ancillary staff on matters pertaining to pharmacy
• Reviews patients charts and authorizes prescriptions with delegated prescriptive authority under state approved Collaborative Drug Therapy Agreements.
• Review the appropriateness and effectiveness of patients medications and makes recommendation to providers on medications and disease state management.
• Utilize computer to access patient charts, maintain accurate inventory levels, data entry and verification.
• Maintains knowledge on rules presented by HRSA to maintain the integrity of the 340B Drug Pricing Program
• Assists in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of medication therapy management and clinical pharmacy services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: Rph or PharmD from accredited school of pharmacy. Current valid licensure in the state of Washington is required. Prior 340B and non-profit experience preferred. Leadership skills required.

Skills: Excellent oral and written communications skills required. Computer skills required.

Physical Demands:

Pharmacists must be able to move around the facility between 1/3rd and 2/3rds of the day, while sitting at a workstation occurs under 1/3rd of the day. Using hands and reaching with arms occurs over 2/3rds of the day. Communicating is also required over 2/3rds of the day, while climbing, stooping or crawling is minimal. Lifting up to 10 lbs. occurs occasionally, while 25-50 lbs. occurs infrequently.
