Ochlocknee, GA | Temp to Perm | $14.00 / Hour
A leading manufacturer and supplier of sorbent products is looking for a reliable packaging operator at a powder packaging plant in Ochlocknee. You will be expected to be punctual, work in a timely manner, and follow all safety regulations to ensure the proper product is manufactured.

Responsibilities
*
Operate automated packaging, bulk-bagging, palletizing, or slurry equipment
*
Prepare and apply additives to the products, monitor results for compliance and take appropriate action
*
Set-up equipment, perform daily inspections, and make minor adjustments to the equipment as necessary
*
Ensure the process safely drives quality and production to standards or targets
*
Sample packaged product to verify it meets specifications
*
Identify non-conformance events, documents events, and take appropriate actions
*
Perform manual tasks such as hand stacking product
*
Periodically weigh product packages to ensure weight specifications are met
*
Inspect supplies such as bags, bulk bags and pallets to ensure usable quality and quantity levels are present and to inventory levels
*
Operate forklift to load trailers and move material
*
Interact with the computer systems for compliance, reporting, email, machine set-up and QMS requirements
*
Input environmental, safety, production, maintenance, and shipping data utilizing the CMMS, QMS, AS/400, spreadsheets and/or hand written paper reports
*
Spot, set-up, load and move bulk trucks
*
Spot, set-up, load and move bulk railcars
*
Observe all safety rules, regulation, and precautions
*
Keep areas clean and free of clutter
*
Perform other duties as assigned
*
Participate in process improvement activities
*
Perform area “workplace inspections” as required including environmental inspections
Experience and Education
*
High school diploma or GED
*
(Preferred) Previous forklift work
Requirements
*
Meet the assessment requirements for this position
*
Be able to use technology to evaluate/communicate the status of the process/product
*
Wear steel toed boots, safety glasses, and a safety vest
*
Pass computer literacy assessment
*
Be able to understand and act upon all safety and environmental requirements and other related communications
*
Visually differentiate between products and be able to hear audible alarms, instructions, and commands
*
Be able to read and understand Bill of Lading
*
Efficiently interact with and use computer systems
*
Comprehend and follow quality management system
*
Stand for the duration of the shift
*
Lift and move 60 pounds for the duration of shift if necessary
*
Bend, reach, twist, stoop, walk, and climb stairways and ladders frequently
*
Climb ladders up to 110 feet
*
Talk and hear radio communications as well as phone
*
Meet all physical requirements of the position

Schedule: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. - Rotating
