Job Posting for Minister of Music at New Hope Baptist Church
Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented Music Minister to lead our music ministry and enhance the worship experience through music and song.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the planning, organization, conducting and evaluating of a comprehensive music program including choirs and/or instrumental ensembles.
-Direct the adult choir. Conduct rehearsals with choir members, musicians, and vocalists.
-Serve as a member of church council; coordinate the music program with the organizational calendar and emphasis of the church.
-Assist the pastor in planning all services of worship.
- Select appropriate music pieces in line with the church's values and themes and arrange and provide music for special projects, ministries and other community and church related activities upon request.
- Educate and mentor choir members to enhance their musical abilities.
-Keep informed of music method, materials, promotion and administration.
-Prepare an annual music budget for approval and administer the approved budget.
- Oversee the maintenance of musical instruments and equipment
- Supervise and secure musicians for all church services and approve and submit time sheets to the Church Treasurer.
-Coordinate with other ministries for joint musical performances
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or related field preferred
- Proven experience in leading music ministry
- Proficient in playing at least one musical instrument
- Strong leadership skills to guide and inspire choir members and musicians
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey musical direction
- Ability to mentor and develop musical talent within the congregation
