Position Summary: 
The Peer Wellness Coach Program Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of a Peer Wellness Coaching Program for the students, faculty and staff of NJIT. The coordinator provides direct oversight of the Student Peer Wellness Coaches and the Student Peer Wellness Coach Program, including the recruitment and training of student coaches. The coordinator will be responsible for developing community-level programming to foster University-wide wellness and education that supports the aims, objectives, and missions of the University. The coordinator will provide wellness coaching directly to faculty and staff who seek this service.

Essential Functions: 
- Provide oversight and supervision of the Peer Coach Program and Peer Coaches including recruitment, training, and direct supervision of Peer Coaches.
- Provide individual wellness coaching sessions for faculty and staff.
- Provides appropriate support and referrals to students, faculty and staff identified as requiring additional support through the coaching program.
- Maintains confidentiality and protects individual privacy.
- Develops resources and tools to be used as part of the coaching program; revises and improves upon existing resources and tools.
- Keeps program statistics including numbers of students, faculty, and staff coached, number and types of referrals made to outside services/other campus resources, numbers and types of sessions held (individual/group) and trends related to the topics discussed during coaching sessions.
- Conducts a formal program evaluation on an annual basis to identify program outcomes, strengths, and opportunities for improvement.

Additional Functions: 
Serves as an active member of the Campus Wellness Strategic Steering Committee and the University Student Life Prevention Committee. 
- Works in collaboration with Campus Partners to provide wellness programming activities.
- Provides workshops/presentations for faculty, professional staff and paraprofessional staff (e.g. resident assistants).
- Keeps up with professional developments in the field of wellness coaching. 
- Participates in major university events/programs such as orientation, Open House, parent/family sessions, etc. as appropriate.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

Prerequisite Qualifications: 
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (social work, mental health clinician, public health, or related field).
- Two years’ experience as a wellness coach or wellness coach certificate from an accredited program.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Preferred Qualifications: 
- Professional experience in college or university counseling/mental health center. Background/expertise and interest in development and supervision of Peer Helpers/Peer Helping Program.
- Background/expertise and interest in one or more of the following: anxiety disorders, depression/suicide prevention, men's issues, stress management, sexual assault/relationship violence prevention/treatment, substance abuse, eating disorders, cultural diversity, sports psychology, wellness.
