New Leaf Energy is seeking a Compliance Specialist to develop, manage, and administer systems that protect and support our mission-critical work.
This position may be filled out of our Lowell, MA, Boston, MA, or Oakland, CA offices. We value in-person collaboration and offer a hybrid work environment. Hybrid employees work in the office at least two out of every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and are free to work from the office or from home on other days.
About the role:
The Compliance Specialist will report directly to the General Counsel in a cross-functional role supporting the legal team and key responsibilities in other departments within New Leaf Energy. They will be responsible for a broad swath of standard compliance work across the business. The key characteristic of the Compliance Specialist is that they have the ability to quickly and substantively understand a broad subset of the company’s objectives, such that they can contribute to developing systems that will grow as New Leaf Energy does.
In most cases, they will take over and improve upon already-established standard work that requires an exceptional level of diligence and detail to execute, primarily in partnership with the Legal and People Culture teams. In these areas, they will work with a high degree of independence and be relied upon for exceptional judgment to flag potential issues.
In other cases, they will work with certain business leaders to develop new systems that protect the company against risk by standardizing document management and certain access points. In the near term, these projects are centered around New Leaf Energy’s utility-scale business, which requires collaboration with the Policy team, Legal team, and Interconnection team.
Across all of these responsibilities, it is critical that the person in this role works proactively to understand the business processes at hand, is discreet about the confidential information to which they have access, and feels confident in working directly with senior management to create new systems.

Compensation
New Leaf Energy compensates all employees in three ways: market-competitive base salary, plus above-market variable compensation, plus an equity-like program such that all employees experience the benefits of ownership. We use a data-driven and transparent methodology to calibrate compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable, guided by the New Leaf Energy compensation manual, which is available to all employees.
Under our compensation framework, the likely base salary range for this position is 73,170 - 85,030. The on-target annual cash bonus associated with this position is an additional 10% percent of base salary. Your actual salary may be above, in, or below this range, depending on your location and experience. Our office locations in Lowell, Boston, and Oakland all carry geography-based upward adjustments to the base pay range.
