About New Mexico Military Institute: NMMI is a state-supported, co-educational college preparatory high school and junior college, complete with Junior and Senior ROTC programs. With a Corps of Cadets numbering up to 1000 young men and women, NMMI provides an accredited college preparatory curriculum on the high school level.
Position: Under general supervision, the Admissions Counselor/Recruiter supports the overall recruiting and admissions function through a series of responsibilities. These include, but are not limited to, assisting the Enrollment Staff with appropriate tasks to help meet strategic enrollment objectives, promoting the Institute to prospective families, current cadets, faculty and staff, and representing the Institute to external constituents including members of the New Mexico Legislature. Job description available upon request. The pay range offered for the Admissions Counselor/Recruiter position is $38,000 to $40,000.
Responsibilities:
- The completion and evaluation of applications received for admission to the high school and college programs, including but not limited to, making phone calls to students, parents, high schools and colleges to obtain required documents, and assisting applicants to complete the application process
- In-State and out-of-state travel is expected
- Evening and weekend work may be required
Essential Skills:
- Ability, or willingness to learn appropriate skills to assist in recruiting high school and junior college applicants
- Ability, or willingness to learn appropriate skills, to implement, maintain, update, and utilize current and future computer technologies
- Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with co-workers and other NMMI staff and faculty
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
- Equivalent work experience may be substituted for a degree requirement
- Bilingual preferred
- Recruiting or Admissions experience at a college or boarding school is preferred
