What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Ambassador position at New Orleans Saints and Pelicans?
The New Orleans Pelicans are seeking positive and outgoing Event Ambassadors who will use their personality and skills to enhance the Pelicans fan experience! Under general direction and supervision of the Game Experience and Events Departments, this position is responsible for handling, preparing and implementing all elements of the pre-game fan experience. This position is part time, and will require late nights, weekends and open availability for a majority of the New Orleans Pelicans home games and events.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with the setup and break down of all pre-game fan experiences (e.g. inflatables, sport court, giveaways, etc.)
- Escorts and coordinates fan experience vendors and entertainers (E.g. Face Painters, DJs, Bands, Pelicans Drumline, Pelicans Entertainment Team etc.)
- Assists with the run of show execution for all pre-game and external events
- Assists with all event logistics and operations including fixtures, furnishings and equipment requests and placement
- Provides administrative support and coordinates all outdoor and pre-game events, contests, and activations
- Assists in the coordination of all pre-game elements with a focus on fan interactivity
- Prepares and facilitates any outdoor giveaways
- Supports the arena host during all pre-game event programming
- Act as an enthusiastic brand ambassador for the organization in and out of the arena during all Pelicans Fans, Season Ticket Holder and external events
Qualifications:
- Must be hardworking, upbeat, and able to adapt quickly in an ever-changing environment
- Hard-working and knowledgeable about the sports, live entertainment/production, and special event industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to multi-task and address problems in a high-stress, fast-paced live event/production environment
- Ability to work the majority of scheduled Pelicans home games, additional home playoff games, select rehearsals and occasional special events
- Takes directions well and is a dedicated team player
- Ability to work well with others including Show Caller, Stage managers, Game Experience staff, hosts, VIPs and more
- Ability to be on your feet for the duration of your shift
- Ability to lift and/or move 50 lbs at a time
Environment
The incumbent will spend the majority of their time at the Smoothie King Center for New Orleans Pelicans games and on occasion, external Pelicans events. Approximately half of their work will be conducted outside and subject to the elements, while the other half will take place inside the arena. They will be required to attend Pelicans games at the Smoothie King Center, as well as other related events that may take place on weekends and/or holidays.
