Director of Operations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The New Pacific Airlines Director of Operations has operational control of all FAA Part 121 Company flight operations, activities, and management of Company Operations Specifications. The Director of Operations ensures that flight operations are conducted in accordance with applicable 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Operations Specifications authorizations, and Company standards. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Promote and encourage safety and security in all operational areas and ensures that applicable procedures are properly observed.
• Act with integrity when conducting reviews of Operations Specifications, waivers, and exemptions to validate their relevancy to current Company business requirements.
• Illustrate connectedness when providing leadership in the establishment of Company policies, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with CFR related to flight operations.
• Commitment to continually implement broad-based solutions for issues affecting overall operational readiness and regulatory compliance consistent with industry trends and Company mission statement.
• Demonstrate reliability by maintaining operational control of all FAA Part 121 Company flights to include issuance of delays, cancellations, and/or diversions as necessary to ensure adequate levels of safety and security are maintained.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate for Director of Operations will have previous airline operations management, safety compliance, and team leadership experience. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our airline. Other qualifications include:

• Must possess High School Diploma/GED.
• Must possess an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and demonstrate a minimum of three years of supervisory or managerial experience within the past six years. This experience should involve operational control responsibilities for large airplane operations under 14 CFR Part 121. Preferred familiarity with the types of aircraft operated by New Pacific Airlines: Boeing 757–100, and Ravn Alaska: De Havilland Canada DHC-8.
• Must have a comprehensive understanding of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices, applicable regulatory requirements, New Pacific Airlines Operations Specifications, and Ravn Alaska manuals through training, experience, and/or expertise.
• Must have experience in the conduct and management of systems safety programs.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Must have proficiency in Word, Access, Excel, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS).
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors, substances, and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
