New River Community College is a two-year state institution of higher education operating under a statewide system of 23 community colleges. The college is located on a one-hundred plus acre site at the intersection of U.S. Routes 11 and 100 in Dublin, Virginia. The campus provides modern, well-equipped facilities for the career technical education programs as well as for the college transfer programs. Approximately 5,000 students comprise the student body.

Duties:
- Assist students with the application process for the nursing programs and provide administrative support for nursing supervisor and faculty during the nursing applicant selection process.
- Coordinate all activities involved with supporting the instructor-initiated withdrawal policy.
- Serve as admissions liaison with college divisions regarding dual enrollment.
- Manage the required records reporting process to outside agencies.
- Provide customer/technical support by assisting students with the People Soft Student Information System (SIS) and the admissions application.
- Update information for the admissions and records website, review admissions applications daily, send acceptance letters, and complete student deferment forms.
- Register students, provide customer service, and assist with other administrative tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Support the college’s mission to “give everyone the opportunity to learn and develop the right skills so lives and communities are strengthened.”
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
