What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Director position at New Salem Children's Center?
New Salem Children’s Center School Age Program is immediately seeking a fun, loving, organized team player to fill the Site Director position. NSCC-SAP is a school age program that is housed at PORTA Central school but is a sister program to New Salem Children’s Center which has been a well-established center for over 25 years. The NSCC-SAP Site Director must be hard-working and flexible as this position will work directly with all children, families and staff. This position is for someone who would like a career working with young children while also working in a management position. She/he will be responsible for the planning and supervision of the program and activities of the program, hiring and orientation of staff, on-site supervision of all staff, and reporting program affairs to the Program Director, Tracie Sampson. This position is full-time, 40 hours a week Monday through Friday with paid holidays including a Christmas break.
Position qualifications: Must be 21 years old with a high school diploma AND have a minimum of 2 years of credits (60 credit hours) from an accredited college or university with 18 semester hours in courses related directly to childcare and/or child development from birth to age 12 and 2,000 (1 year) clock hours of experience working with children ages birth to age 12 OR 4,000 (2 years) clock hours of child development experiences in a licensed day care center/school district; one year of college credits (30 credit hours) with 10 semesters hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development from birth to age 12 and proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university until 2 years of college credit have been achieved. A total of 18 hours in courses related directly to childcare and/or child development from birth to 12 is required to be obtained within the total 2 years of college credits; have or qualify for Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential or 3 semester hours of college credit or 3 points of credential approved training in administration, leadership or management. The Site Director will be required to obtain a Food Supervisor certificate and CPR and First Aid certificate. Background checks will be completed.
