New Story is seeking a qualified Marketing Coordinator to serve as the go-to, on-the-ground marketing support for their assigned state and/or region. As a part of the Corporate Marketing and Communications team, the MC is responsible staying informed about local market insights and industry opportunities, trends, events, and the competitive landscape, and well as implementing local marketing strategy and providing support for local leadership, regional staff, and business development teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as locations-based marketing lead in the region.
- Create, maintain, and execute a local market editorial calendar highlighting schools’ and clinics’ services offerings, data/results, and other defined areas for use across digital channels, including blogs, social media, and the website.
- Identify, develop recommendations, and staff local events specific to networking, community relations, and business generation opportunities (e.g., resource fairs, autism walks, chamber of commerce events, etc.).
- Contribute to the creation of event-based marketing plans in support of new school openings, acquisitions, and ad hoc activities, including state and national conferences, open houses, etc.; manage quarterly calendar of all field marketing events.
- Serve as the lead and point person responsible for consolidating event workstreams into a holistic event marketing plan.
- Ordering collateral and promotional items specific to local events and activities.
- Attend staff-designated, school-driven events, such as celebrations, proms, graduations, to take photos and develop editorial content.
- Report on the effectiveness of all efforts, including cost analysis and monthly ROI, and as needed.
- Manage the company’s ambassador program, including scheduling events. Attend events when Ambassadors are unavailable.
- Develop and maintain database of contacts for media outlets, community group, professional/ association. Details include reporter contacts in support of public relations activities and advertising and promotional rate cards and/or calendars/special issues (traditional and digital).
- Contribute to the development of marketing and communication materials, own reviews processes.
- Maintain marketing media library and associated release information.
- Support ad hoc special projects and/or assignments as directed.
WORK SKILLS
- Must be willing to travel 25 – 30% to schools and clinics in the state or region.
- Proven experience in event planning, management, and execution, including vendor management and budgets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Open-minded, flexible, and adaptable to change.
- Strong collaborator, with the ability to clearly express ideas and the confidence to work with colleagues at all levels.
- Understanding of marketing and communications best practices, standards, and vehicles (digital).
- Proven writing capabilities in a variety of formats, social media, newsletters, and other short formats.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, to meet tight deadlines and to manage multiple projects simultaneously and autonomously.
- Editing and proofreading skills, along with extraordinary attention to detail while delivering against deadlines.
- An outcome-oriented “doer” who enjoys rolling up your sleeves and doing what needs to get done to support the business.
