Quality Technician Lead – Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-4:00pm, Friday 7:30am-11:30am
Pay: $28-34/hr. DOE

This family-owned business is looking for someone with quality control experience who will be responsible for running the quality department and ensuring all products are in accordance to the company’s safety quality and production standards. Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
· Perform incoming receipt inspections and random in-process inspections throughout production.
· Perform weld cell daily inspections as required.
· Perform QA Initial Part Inspection (QA IPI) as required.
· Prep and perform formal First Article inspections (FAI).
· Assist and train operators performing dimensional inspections as needed.
· Perform final inspections
· Properly package, tag, and move product within the facility as related to quality activities.
· Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings as well as assisting and training others to interpret drawings.
· Analyze, research, determine solutions to, and write reports related to internal and external quality issues.
· Initiate EARs (Engineering Action Requests) as well as track and facilitate CAPA (Corrective Action/Preventative Action) process.
· Identify, monitor, document and justify process improvements.
· Develop and document inspections processes and plans and recommend process and procedure changes.
· Work with production to develop functional charting and log books to capture relevant production numbers.
· Cross-collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and production to meet customer requirements.
· Utilize Office Suite software and internal business system software.
· Operate, read and maintain various inspection tools
· Act as calibration coordinator, tracking calibration required tools, tracking due dates, scheduling calibration cycles, monitoring and assisting the calibrations vender when on-site as needed, negotiate costs, maintain calibration and certificate logs.
Requirements:
· 5 years in a Quality Control position, preferably in a metal fabrication production facility.
· Confident in working independently and cross-collaborating with other departments.
· Experience training other employees in quality inspection procedures preferred.
· Experience with Microsoft office suite and QA software.
· Experience with FAI, RGA, and NCR reporting.
· Experience with various measurement tools
· Experience reading, understanding, and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
