NEW WAVE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

New Wave Artist Residency is a Florida based charity that supports artist residencies and public arts programming in West Palm Beach and the region. We help to give voice to marginalized artists in today’s difficult environment by offering studio space, housing and a stipend on a rotating year-round basis. New Wave also provides public arts programming consistent with our message in and around the community of Palm Beach and West Palm Beach. We strive to support artists and engage the community on the importance of every individual having the ability to freely express themselves through the arts.

We are seeking an experienced professional for the position of Executive Director to oversee all aspects of management, development and programming for this contemporary arts-based not for profit.

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for working with the Founder, our consultants and the Board of Directors on all aspects of planning and implementation of the programs and fundraising to support the mission. An outstanding group of donors support the organization currently, and a new Strategic Plan outlines significant growth in revenues and expanded programming. Community engagement, public relations, donor relations, grant writing and management, program and event management, and general leadership duties for New Wave Artist Residency are all important parts of the duties. The Executive Director will also be responsible for oversight of development and sponsorships and will work closely with the board and our accountants in creating budgets for our programming and events as well as for the overall annual budget.

The Executive Director must be a hands-on leader during our New Wave Art WKND, managing events, vendors and staff throughout the duration.

The Executive Director will be equally comfortable with high-net-worth individuals and with artists and community members supported by our residencies and public programming. Local and national media coverage is another important aspect of this work and the Executive Director will have frequent responsibilities to design and execute a PR plan, including talking directly with the media as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years experience as a leader within a nonprofit corporation, preferably in an arts

organization

• BA required, MA preferred (arts discipline preferred)

• Residency in the West Palm Beach region is required

• Work can be a combination of in-office and remote, but significant community

engagement in person is required

• Salary and benefits commensurate with experience
