1. Project Description. Provide civil engineering support for capital project (C-48726 Line Structure Component Repairs on Broadway-7th Avenue Line (IRT) and 8th Avenue Line (IND) and Storm water Mitigation at 81st Street on Broadway-7th Avenue Line (IRT), in the Borough of Manhattan), in MTA Construction and Development.
2. Professional/Technical Title: Assistant Civil Engineer
3. Duration of Task Order Term: approximately one calendar year
4. No. of Hours Per Week: 40 hours
5. Work Schedule:
• Monday through Friday.
• 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M shift with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
• Shift may vary based on the phase of the project and the Contractor's work schedule.
• Weekend shifts and overtime may be required as needed.
6. Technical or Administrative functions:
• 70% technical/30% administrative support.
• Field 40%/Office 60%.
• Right-of-Way access is required.

• Field Office based on project needs: Jamaica NY
• Work within any of 5 boroughs may be required.
9. Reports to: CCM, PCEO Construction Manager #43, MTA – C&D, Infrastructure
10. Qualifications Requirements:
• A bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college and one year of fulltime satisfactory experience; or
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college and a master's degree in civil engineering
from an accredited college.
11. Experience Requirements:
One year of full-time experience in Structure or Civil Engineering.
12. Licensing and Certification Requirements:
• The Consultant shall obtain 30-Hour OSHA Certification and 8-hour Lead Awareness
Courses, as required, at no cost to MTA Construction and Development.
• Must pass a one-day MTA C&D Track Safety training & prior to participating any in work capital projects.
13. Desired Skills/Training Requirements:
• Demonstrated knowledge of Civil/Structural Engineering standards/codes and practice.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks between stakeholders which includes contractors, operations, other NYCT departments and engineering personnel.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Skilled with Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to prioritize and ensure timely completion of assignments.
• Proficiency with AutoCad/Microstation and ProjectWise.
14. Description of Work:
• Perform and conduct field surveys and prepare field survey reports.
• Monitor construction field work by contractors ensuring compliance with contract drawings and specification and approve shop drawings.
• Utilize web-based document management protocols to maintain all project submittals and correspondences.
• Review and mark-up construction submittals.
• Perform the following tasks, including, but not limited to:
a. site inspections,
b. ascend and descend ladders and stairs,
c. work on elevated platforms and scaffolds,
d. stand for extended periods,
e. work outdoors in all weather conditions , in subway tunnels and stations environments, etc.
• Under supervision of the Project Manager, participate in preparing and reviewing payments, AWOs, daily reports.
Note
• The consultant shall provide safety shoes, which meets MTA C&D's guidelines and specifications when participating in any activities located on the track or wayside. Guidelines will be provided upon hire.About the Company:
