Technical Writer

New World is seeking a talented and motivated Technical/Content Writer with 1-4 years’ experience in technical writing and business process writing.

The ideal candidate for this position will be an adept communicator who can coordinate, research, and write technical documentation, support documents, and related documentation for internal team use as well as client support.

Portfolio and experience should demonstrate the ability to think through technical and business processes and translate into viable documentation specific to the applicable audience. Additional marketing copywrite opportunities will be available.

Key Responsibilities

• Writes and edits technical documentation tailored to the needs of various audiences with guidance from product owners, subject matter experts, and marketing, including development standards and guidelines, technology knowledge base content, and other technical publications. Researches technical and programmatic information, including user stories, design and project specifications, and interviews with subject matter experts. Required Background and Skills
• Exceptionally strong communication and writing skills required.
• Exceptional attention to detail required. Strong determination to produce applicable, accurate, and complete technical documentation for a variety of audiences.
• Ability and willingness to proactively pull data from various sources into a cohesive and audience-focused document.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
• Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and set priorities with minimal direction.
• Ability to understand technical information and communicate it in practical language.
• Ability to apply standards, styles, and templates to ensure common documentation look and feel.
• Ability to produce technical documentation tailored to the needs of various audiences with guidance from product owners and/or subject matter experts.
• Proficient with a variety of software products used for authoring (e.g., MS Office products, Adobe products, Content Management Systems [CMS]) and ability to quickly learn new software tools.
• Degree in Technical Communication/Writing or similar, and/or equivalent writing experience.
• Two to three years of experience in a similar role or related field preferred. High-potential, entry-level candidates will also be considered

Additional Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with web, social media, marketing copywriting, and creative writing.
• Some HTML knowledge.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
