Summer Internship Program Parameters:
Three scheduled start dates - May 22, May 30, or June 5.
Prospective interns must be available to work until Aug. 11.
Able/willing to work a 40-hour work week.
18 years of age
Have a high school diploma AND an active college students of any status (undergrad, master)
JOB SUMMARY
As an NYCB/Flagstar Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn the daily functions and operations of an assigned department. During this time, you will work alongside and interact with team members and leaders to gain real-world experience to learn our processes and improve efficiencies while expanding on the core concepts introduced throughout your college classes. Throughout your internship you will participate in multiple engagement sessions designed to enhance your career outlook, communication skills, and business knowledge.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepares documents/forms for scanning. Performs scanning and indexing of documents according to defined criteria and guidelines.
May retrieve and/or copy documents as needed or requested and routes to the appropriate department.
Organizes and boxes documents for offsite storage and/or destruction and coordinates sending and receiving of documents with offsite vendor.
May perform basic electronic and paper document imaging quality review and correction functions.
May prepare correspondence, memoranda, reports, meeting agenda and minutes and presentation material.
Opens, sorts and distributes incoming mail, assembles correspondence for mailing.
May receive and direct visitors, answers and screens telephone calls, takes messages, provides information, redirects calls as appropriate.
Maintains appropriate records, file documentation, etc.
Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of the job, employees are accountable to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adhere to internal control policies and procedures.
