The NYU School of Professional Studies seeks a Chair and Clinical faculty of Integrated Marketing and Communications for the Division of Programs in Business, effective Fall 2023.

The Chair will oversee the Integrated Marketing and Communications department and will participate in setting the strategic direction for the vertical and coordinate graduate curricula across programs. S/he will also be responsible for managing the departmental continuing education portfolio, establishing academic partnerships with external stakeholders, organizing and administering conferences and events that include industry professionals to enhance student learning and/or career opportunities, participating in fundraising efforts and securing scholarships, coordinating student trips abroad, and managing alumni relations. Additionally, the Chair will teach within the graduate program.

Reporting to the Associate Dean of the Division of Programs in Business, the Chair will collaborate with the Assistant Dean and Academic Directors of graduate programs; supervise the administrative teams of the department; and oversee all administration of departmental academic operations including course scheduling and syllabi management.

This full-time faculty position is a nine-month appointment with a two-year renewable faculty contract; the Chair role is a concurrent eleven-month administrative appointment. The rank of the position is dependent upon experience and qualifications.

About the Division of Programs in Business

The Division of Programs in Business provides applied, professional education for students interested in becoming leaders in the functional areas of a business: marketing, human resources, management and technology, and finance. Students from around the world are immersed in highly relevant curricular and co-curricular experiences that combine academic theory and the rich professional expertise of industry practitioners from New York Citys business community. This creates a dynamic teaching and learning environment in which students gain and apply practical skills to solve complex, real-world problems of business and society.

The MS in Integrated Marketing and MS in Public Relations and Corporate Communication are the two degree programs in the Integrated Marketing and Communications department with more than 200 adjunct faculty members. These programs prepare approximately 1300 graduate students per year to become innovative and socially responsible leaders in their chosen fields.

The School also serves the undergraduate market with traditional, four-year degrees in real estate, hotel and tourism management, and sports management in addition to programs for post-traditional students. In compliance with NYCs Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $165,000 as well as an administrative stipend of $10,000 - $80,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

The successful candidate will be a committed educator, with evidence of meaningful contributions in industry and academia. S/he will possess advanced academic credentials (Ph.D., or other advanced terminal degree), and a minimum of five years of substantial direct experience relevant to the position. Expertise and familiarity with the fields of marketing and public relations are required. We seek an individual with professional or administrative experience who can oversee academic content and delivery in alignment with current industry needs and emerging trends in the field. Faculty members should have experience working with a diverse base of professionals and teaching a diverse population of students. Prior teaching experience is required.
