A local St. Paul trucking company is looking to expand their operations and requires an additional accountant.
Applicants should be self- motivated, possess strong analytical skills, be able to work independently, and willing to manage other employees. Experience with a trucking or transportation business is preferred but not required. Bookkeeping, computer literacy, Excel, and QuickBooks experience is required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Reconciling the company's bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
Completing analysis of the employee expenditures
Managing income and expenditure accounts
Generating the company's financial reports using income and expenditure data
Keeping a check on the company's finances based on financial status
Initiating and managing financial and accounting software used by the company
Posting financial transactions in databases
Receiving and recording vouchers, cash and checks
Checking for accuracy in reports, figures and postings
Reconciling and reporting any discrepancies found in the records
Interacting with management, customers, and vendors
