Job Title: Driver/Transportation
Department: Administrative
Reports To: Resident Service Director
Newbridge Retirement Community is seeking an energetic individual to join our team as the full-time Driver. This individual will represent Newbridge to the residents, their guests, families, and the community in a professional and positive manner.
As the Driver, you will be responsible for transporting residents to/from appointments, shopping trips, and delivering packages to residents in a timely manner. Drivers will ensure that vehicles are always ready for use and keeping vehicles cleaned and maintained.
I. Job Responsibilities:
- Transporting residents from appointments, shopping, etc.
- Accommodates valet service to our residents and guests as needed.
- Carrying out vehicle maintenance checks.
- Delivering packages to residents in a timely manner.
- Picking up office purchases or other administrative needs.
- Utilizing navigation apps to find the most optimal route.
- Interacting with residents in professional conduct.
- Working after hours or weekends when needed.
- Ensuring that vehicles have sufficient gas and are always ready for use.
- Arranging for vehicle repairs when necessary.
- Updating monthly mileage records.
- Driving a variety of vehicles, cars, vans and trucks.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
II. Qualifications/Skills:
- Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication
- Passion for working with older adults
- Ability to work well with others, communicate clearly and take direction from management
- Ability to take initiative and go above and beyond to meet resident needs
- Computer proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite as well as the ability to learn new applications
- Ability to meet all physical demands of the position which includes, but is not limited to, seeing, speaking, touching, walking, standing, bending, reaching overhead, crouching/kneeling or crawling, as well as the ability to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs independently and up to 100lbs with assistance
- Demonstrate an ability to work with the public with a professional image
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
III. Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three years related experience and/or training
- A valid driver's license
- 1-year driving experience
- Proficiency using GPS devices
