What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Newbridge Spine & Pain Center?
Sleep Center seeks a Medical Assistant for their practice in Waldorf, MD on a temporary basis. The successful candidate is energetic, has good people skills, is a team player, and can work in an independent environment.
Duties include:
- Escorting patients to rooms, checking vitals, and updating medical history in the EMR system.
- Perform pre-authorizations for, sleep studies, and other testing
- Scan paper charts to EMR if needed
- Help with administrative needs with other staff
This position is for you if you:
- Are a Medical Assistant with 2 years of proven work experience working in a fast-paced specialty medical practice in the front and back office
- Have experience with EMR Systems (Athena preferred)
- Have experience triaging patients; specialty practice back-office duties and responsibilities
- Willingness to be cross-trained in other departments.
- Are a team player with a positive attitude, willingness to take initiative, and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Candidate must have excellent patient communication skills
- Have a BLS certification
