Position Title: Oil Reclaim Tech – C shift
Location: Winchester, VA
Reports to: Technical Supervisor

In this position, you will be responsible for removing the waste oil and water that are found in the molding areas most specifically in and around the molding machines. This position works closely with the production and technical teams, especially the cleaning crew, in maintaining an overall clean manufacturing area. This position will report directly to the Technical supervisor but will return calls from anyone requesting oil reclaim assistance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform a daily check at the beginning of each shift and communicate with the outgoing tech to determine priorities for the day/night as they appear at the beginning of the shift. Discussions with tech lead or supervisor may need to take place at this time
- Vacuum up any water/oil in and around machines by utilizing the oil reclaim sump pumps.
- Finish the clean up by utilizing a moisture absorber and/or towels provided for cleanup, if the area is still wet after oil/water has been vacuumed. This may also involve a spray cleaner prior to wiping the area.
- Follow the verbal instruction of the Production/Technical supervisor regarding “Emergencies” that will arise throughout a shift. The “emergencies” will be prioritized by the Lead and/or Supervisors on duty and you may be asked to leave your current job even if it is not completed. If you are verbally told to leave a current clean up assignment, please return to this job immediately once the “Emergency” is completed.
- Maintain the “pit” of each machine to keep working areas free of any slip hazards.
- Keep track of your daily work on the Oil reclaim time sheet, ensuring you are getting the breaks that are due you.
- Assist the cleaning crew with their work and general cleanup, both scheduled and not scheduled.
- Report any oil/water leak sources to the Technical Lead/Supervisors and document findings on your time sheet.
- Must be comfortable being around hot injection and SF molding machine areas.
- Must pass LOTO classroom testing and on floor assessment
- Must wear proper PPE at all times.
- Empty the oil tanks in the Oil reclaim tank using the correct filter media on top
- Change out the filter media daily.
- Keep work area safe, clean, and organized.
- Always have radio on and reply to all communications directed to you via the handheld radio.
- Anything supervisor / tech lead instructs you to do.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred, experience will be considered in lieu of education
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to lift 25lbs and occasionally up to 50lbs
- Basic computer skills
- Work in an environment with extreme temperatures and loud noises
- Internal candidates cannot have more than 3 ½ points in attendance, or a 1st written warning within the last 3 months, 2nd written warning within the last 6 months or final warning within the last year
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must be a team player and able to communicate effectively with co-workers and leadership
- Forklift, Crane, and other industrial vehicle experience
