The (OPG) provides guardianship services for NJ residents over the age of 60 who cannot take care of themselves and/or their estates. This means OPG has the legal authority to make medical, financial, and property decisions on behalf of our clients. We have a team of professionals like attorneys, accountants, social workers, investigators and administrative staff working together to care for each client.
Functions as a trainee and productive working by performance the following responsibilities:
Learning the basics of Guardianship and fiduciary responsibility
Posting desktop deposit including updating the internal inventory system when necessary.
Collaborate with outside agencies to ensure clients are receiving appropriate benefits and accurate billing.
After passing the initial training evaluation, this position will be trained and assigned to the following responsibilities and eligible for a wage increase:
Reviewing, marshalling, and securing assets including updating the internal inventory system when necessary.
Assisting with providing a timely spend-down of assets.
Calling court-appointed attorney/temporary guardian to ensure legal fees have been paid, when required.
Work as a liaison with providers to ensure clients’ entitlements/benefits are monitored, maintained, and understood by providers.
Attend weekly client planning meetings and provide client financial account information to a team of assigned multidisciplinary professionals and support staff. Attend Client Action Plan meetings as needed and provide client financial account and budget information.
Assist the Public Guardian and OPG units with client financial care planning when necessary.
Performs other related duties as needed.

8:00- 4:30 to 8:30 to 5:00
