Job Title: Business Office Assistant
1. Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Practice Manager, performs all duties related to the registration of patients, including obtaining insurance information. Collection of copayments and patient balances at the time of service and posts payment to the practice management system. Performs the end of the day balancing process of monies received and posted. Scheduling of future patient appointments and any additional testing ordered by a physician. Preparing medical records for upcoming office visits. Receives and handles incoming telephone calls. Additional duties include but are not limited to the distribution of faxes and mail to appropriate individuals, confirmation of upcoming patient appointments, rescheduling physician-patient schedules. Medical assisting assisting responsibilities could be expected, including but not limited to; rooming patients, vitals, medication reconciliation.
