Lab Technician

Salary: $19.50/hr.
Eligible for $1500 Sign on bonus
Position Summary
Under general supervision, assists with set-up and general testing of tools. Assist with testing of current experimental, probational and special tools in simulated field conditions. Assembles equipment according to engineering specifications. Assist in operation and maintenance of machinery and test fixtures. Handles special projects, as assigned. **
Essential Functions
- Contribution towards various projects, processes and/or initiatives supporting identified strategic direction
- Follows laboratory test procedures to obtain data related to customer problems
- Actively contributes to the development of best safety practices and standard operating procedures
- Adheres to charters and goals for research, service in the field, training, product QA/QC and product development in the laboratory
- Familiarity with specific core competencies and key supporting technologies
- Operates safely in the laboratory environment. Knowledgeable of the chemical hygiene plan and the current laboratory safety standards
- Organizes and maintains the laboratory for effective experimentation
- Provides technical support to others and is relied-upon by colleagues with a high degree of confidence placed on results obtained
- Adheres to ISO standards
- Completes other duties and responsibilities as directed by Management
- Obtains accurate and precise data for each test performed while keeping errors and repeat testing to a minimum
- Supports training Mud School(s) and Customer Mud School(s)
- Updates Management on activity status, opportunities, challenges, etc.
- Performs self-supporting clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing and mailing
- May train new lab personnel
Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or educational equivalent.
- 2 years test lab experience.
- Ability to learn general mechanical aptitude.
- Superior knowledge of all pumps, machinery, test fixtures, and recording equipment in the Test Lab.
