Capital Markets Analyst

NewPoint Real Estate Capital’s Capital Markets team is seeking an Analyst to perform a variety of tasks including pricing our offered products and executing Agency CMBS trades. The Analyst will also be developing and maintaining state of the business reports as well as conducting industry & market research. This position can be based out of the DC area.

Duties and responsibilities

• Assist in managing the pricing and profitability of Fannie Mae DUS, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae Project & Construction loans.
• Develop, implement and manage reports that directly support Capital Markets’ business functions.
• Effectively analyze data and communicate results and trends to management.
• Resolve investor/dealer inquiries on pricing of multi-family loans.
• Develop and maintain Capital Markets policies & procedures and maintain all “Trade” files.
• Produce and distribute Rate Sheets.
• Assist in the creation and distribution of broad market commentary as needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements driving increased efficiency, issue resolution, and risk mitigation activities.
• Demonstrate business acumen, problem solving skills and relationship management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Computer Science preferred.
• Up to 2 years’ experience in a trading/financial analytics/settlements capacity.
• Knowledge in commercial real estate is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Fannie Mae & Ginnie Mae multifamily/Healthcare mortgage products and the broader mortgage finance industry is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, VBA programming and data analytics skills is a must. Candidate should be proficient with most if not all of the following:
• o Automated data manipulation using VBA programming; this includes the ability to structure nested loops and use conditional logic.
• o Advanced Excel formula construction, including but not limited to:

Vlookups and Index matching
Use of named ranges
Index matching
Pivot Tables

• Interaction with external data sources
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability & willingness to interface with customers.
• Advanced experience in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
