Responsibilities
The Education Supervisor provides on-site leadership for larger Newport Healthcare programs and campuses. This position reports to the Education Manager (Regional) and serves as a conduit between the operations and programming team and the academic personnel. The Education Supervisor provides supervision to academic staff, support with problem solving, ensure adherence to the daily schedule, and communication between academic leadership and the site.
Essential Duties:
- Provide oversight of academic staff, classroom needs, scheduling, pod assignments, adherence to academic standards, and implementation of new programs or schedule changes.
- Supervise staff to include teachers and tutors and involves management of employee concerns, 90 day and annual reviews, and disciplinary action.
- Facilitate team meetings and attend bi-weekly leadership meetings.
- Oversee and offer assistance in monitoring of weekly progress reports for clients, Friday afternoon classroom activities, and summer programming.
- Assist in the process of interviewing for open positions, participate in New Hire Orientation by providing the CC classroom training, and work with staff to assist in new teacher and tutor training.
- Coordinate issues with technology such as internet breaches and blocking and unblocking of websites.
- Serve as Site Admin to complete enrollments and perform system audits for assigned sites.
- Coordinate with discharge planning and medical records to ensure appropriate school correspondence is written, i.e., medical LOA’s and return to school approvals.
- Act as liaison between site directors, programming staff and academic staff by disseminating information about schedule changes, discharges, and client issues/concerns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Five (5) years of teaching, instructional, or educational experience required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Teaching license preferred.
