Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Grants Project Manager to oversee the operation of our organization's grants portfolio. The Grants Project Manager will play a crucial role in managing the grant lifecycle, including grant writing. This position is a key member of the Workforce and Strategic Development team. They will actively contribute to building Newport Mental Health's grant portfolio. Additionally, the Grants Project Manager facilitates project oversight and leadership across internal departments to ensure grant projects and goals are being met and will work collaboratively with the members of the Development and Marketing team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal reviews of agency needs, collect program data, and assess the feasibility of obtaining external funding for project and program proposals.
- Research and investigate funding sources, through materials review, listservs, meetings, and correspondence.
- Develop and maintain an internal grant application process, ensuring smooth and efficient grant-seeking activities.
- Manage a grant management system for funded grants, including tracking report due dates, budget adherence, and other grant requirements.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of information on funding sources, grant writing, and community and state data relevant to our organization's programs and services.
- Collaborate with fund personnel to gather input for projects and comply with data and information requests.
- Coordinate, develop, and process grant applications from conceptualization to submission stage, working closely with staff throughout all phases.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities, including searching for funding sources, writing proposals, managing existing grants, reporting to stakeholders, and contributing to special projects.
- Seeks and participates actively in regularly scheduled supervision with emphasis on an openness to receive feedback and integrate recommendations in the execution of job responsibilities of the Grant Project Manager
- Identifies and champions specific projects as they relate to grant goals and outcomes, and in coordination with team colleagues and senior management leaders.
- Serves as grant writer for grant proposals and coordinates proposal submissions, with support of Grant Specialist.
- Prepares and processes letters and correspondence, and grant project presentations.
- Provides support and follow up with conversations and overall communications, including scheduling, with organization project officers.
- Seeks and embraces opportunities to represent Newport Mental Health on a local and regional level with professionalism in his/her area of expertise.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively convey grant proposals, reports, and correspondence.

- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills to coordinate multiple projects and collaborate with various collaborating partners.
- Knowledge of funding sources, compliance issues, legal and fiscal policies of funding sources, and relevant government agencies.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology to assist with grants development and management.
- High degree of initiative to find innovative solutions and deliver high-quality results within tight timelines.
- Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and apply governmental regulations and proposal guidelines.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a strong aptitude for working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with relevant software and tools.
Other Duties:
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager
- Attend trainings and meetings as assigned
- Adhere to safety policies including participation in fire/disaster drills
Education and experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Fundraising, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Social Entrepreneurship
- 3 or more years of related work experience, and a demonstrable track record in grant writing, development or corporate or foundations giving programs, and demonstrable track record in applying for, acquiring, and managing portfolio of grants.
- A strong working knowledge of healthcare, or associated industries is preferred.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills with the ability to listen actively; a flexible writing style with an ability to tailor content to the audience and channel is required.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong quantitative skills and an ability to grasp company economics.
- An ability to cultivate strong interpersonal customer and coworker relationships at all levels of organization is required.
- A track record of commitment to professional development and evidence-based work is preferred.
