Newrest is looking for an individual to unload merchandise from incoming freight and moves it to the appropriate location in the production and storage areas.

This individual ensures equipment is charged, properly maintained, and keeps the work area clean and organized.

THIS POSITION IS PAID ON A WEEKLY BASIS. FREE LUNCH EVERY DAY

PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION IS REQUIRED FOR EMPLOYMENT

MUST BE FLEXIBLE TO WORK ANY SCHEDULE BASED ON OPERATIONAL NEEDS, INCLUDING OVERNIGHT SHIFTS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Load, unload, sort, and move shipments by hand or by use of material handling equipment.
  • Accurately and safely unload trucks.
  • Complete receiving documentation.
  • Move goods to appropriate storage areas in a safe manner.
  • Perform regular counts of stored materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping area, loading dock, and trash areas.
  • Complete daily quality logs.
  • Work closely with the production department to ensure proper stock and inventory of needed materials.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and inspected according to operating procedures.
  • Adhere to shipping policies / procedures and regulatory compliance procedures.
  • Report potential hazards and unsafe work conditions to team lead, lead hand, or manager.
  • Regular and timely attendance is expected for this position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

No experience required, but any experience in supply, purchasing, receiving, or inventory is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
  • Must be able to count.
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures, including freezing temperatures
  • Must be willing to work weekends.
  • Good knowledge of HACCP regulations.
  • Ability to work fast-paced
  • Ability to show flexibility in working in various areas of the department.
  • Ability to know how ones performance affects the areas before and after you.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to a fluctuating temperature environment, with a majority of that time in a freezing temperature environment.

The individual is regularly required to stand, lift, bend over, walk, talk and / or hear. The employee may also regularly lift and / or move up to 40 pounds.

The noise level may range from moderate to loud.
