JOB DESCRIPTION
Newrest is looking for General Workers to join our Food Production department. This individual will be responsible for preparing and setting up the airline trays with the appropriate sandwiches, fruits, salads, etc. This person may also be involved with slicing and cutting fruits, vegetables, and other foods. If you show capability and leadership ability, there are many opportunities to move up within the company.
COMPENSATION:
Pay: $17.00 per hour*
- $16.00 base pay $1.00 Temperature Bonus (all paid on weekly basis)*
Shift Differential Bonus: $1.50 per hour
- Max of $60 per week
- Applies to hours worked after 3 PM
Work Location: One location
- Local transportation in Salt Lake City
Job Type: Part time and Full-time available*
- AM Shift*
- 4 or 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability a must
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knife skills: techniques for holding knives securely, secure work surface, quick cut, etc.
- Perform the different food preparation techniques: marinate, season, chop, cut, slice, etc.
- Maintain portion control and constantly monitor benefits throughout the production chain
- Load carts and trolleys with platters, dishes, utensils, and containers
- Assist in setting up and packaging special meals and ingredients
- Perform proper food packaging and storing based on safety requirements and customer’s instructions
- Ensure that left-over ingredients and packaging material are properly labelled and returned in the dry storage, cooler or packaging material storage
- Follow all process control documentation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to lift at least 35 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
- Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Attendance, diligence, punctuality, reliability
