Videographer

The largest broadcast and digital newsgathering operation on the Central Coast is looking for a full time video journalist to join our team.  Your mission will be to work solo or as a team with a reporter or producers to put on daily newscast and digital content.  This position is based in the Santa Barbara newsroom.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to shoot, edit, conduct interviews, and operate satellite newsgathering and bonded cellular technology for live reporting from remote locations.  You will edit news footage from multiple sources to create compelling, journalistically accurate content under tight deadline pressures for air on station newscasts and posting on digital platforms.

Experience with Adobe Premiere (or Final Cut Pro, Avid, Harris Velocity) is required. Knowledge of Panasonic PX-270 Camcorders is strongly preferred. If selected for an interview, you will be given the opportunity to demonstrate your skills in a deadline-driven environment.

This position works with all aspects of newsgathering. An exceptionally strong work ethic and a commitment to being a team player at all times is essential for success in this role.

This position may include evening, morning, or weekend shifts so flexibility is essential. This position rotates with others on-call to shoot breaking stories overnights and on weekends in an area from Ventura to Santa Maria, so candidates who can quickly respond to those areas will receive priority consideration. Pay Range: $15.50-$16.00 per hour. Based on experience.
