Payroll Analyst
Job Summary:
The Payroll Analyst, employed by TASC Technical Services, LLC. - Nexien Inc. (HII), will play a crucial role in the analysis, auditing, reconciliation, and resolution of complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues. This position is essential for ensuring the smooth processing of payroll, compliance with company policies, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state, and IRS regulations. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for researching and interpreting federal and state regulatory requirements and resolving tax, withholding, garnishment, and wage/hour issues related to payroll processing. The incumbent will also respond to auditing and regulatory inquiries and may collaborate with system programmers to find solutions or administer the company's payroll system with an outside service provider.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze, audit, reconcile, and resolve complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues.
- Ensure payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, accounting principles, and federal, state, and IRS regulations.
- Research and interpret federal and state regulatory requirements and address tax, withholding, garnishment, and wage/hour issues.
- Collaborate with system programmers to develop solutions or administer the company's payroll system with an outside service provider.
- Provide support for payroll-related auditing and regulatory inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree and 4 years of experience.
- Bachelor's Degree may be substituted with 4 years of related exempt experience or 8 years of non-related exempt experience.
- Prior experience in payroll processing and financial accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
