What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Coordinator position at NextEnergy Group?

THE ROLE

NextEnergy is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the UK Investment Management team and play an important role in successfully deploying capital at scale in the solar energy and battery storage sectors. The role offers insight into all aspects of pre-construction project delivery, predominantly for mature ground-mounted solar projects in the UK, but also exposure to other fund functions.

The successful candidate will be supporting the Investment and Construction transition team with project delivery activities. This role is critical to ensuring that mature development projects progress into construction on time and on budget. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously, across subjects related to grid, planning and property as well as supporting construction contract tendering and procurement.

You will be heavily focused on process-driven coordination and management of time-sensitive tasks that are considered an instrumental part of the investment process.

This is a unique opportunity to join a leading investor in UK solar and battery storage projects and play a key role in the development of the UK's renewable energy sector. The role demands an interest in learning more about this industry and contributing to NextEnergy’s mission towards a more sustainable future.

  • Coordination and management of project deliverables and critical deadlines towards construction start and in accordance with the acquisition plan;
  • Liaison with internal and external stakeholders to progress projects in line with site-specific programs;

  • Support the construction team on all aspects of contract delivery, including contract tendering, contractor due diligence process and issuance of RFQs;
  • Work closely with the M&A team to support the due diligence process of new target project acquisitions;
  • Presenting projects to the wider Investment Team and participating in the preparation of investment papers for the Investment Committee;
  • Collaborate with the biodiversity and ESG team to ensure projects and any potential contracted parties remain compliant with Company policy;
  • Become a student of the industry; collect and analyse sector data on an ongoing basis to broaden market knowledge and enhance corporate decision-making.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

To be successful in this role, you will have to demonstrate:

  • Our values: be a leader, build trust, be responsible, be innovative and ‘bring your alpha’.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with renewable energy development projects in the UK required
  • Project Management / Due Diligence or UK Planning experience
