Nextnav is looking for a Sr. System Administrator that will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration and integrity of the system operations and applications environment. The technology stack includes storage servers, Dell VM clusters, VMWare, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Atlassian, Cisco Switch, and Palo Alto Firewall. This individual has experience in these technologies and has the capability of learning new technology as needed to carry out his or her duty effectively.

Compensation Package:
- $120k - $157.5k base
- Equity awards (vary by position)

This role is also eligible for participation in annual cash bonus and equity grants. The actual offer, including the compensation package, is determined based on multiple factors, such as the candidate's skills and experience, and other business considerations.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree of Science or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux, Windows Server, VMWare, and virtualization platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify, isolate, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong and effective communication skills with customer service-oriented methodology.
Responsibilities:
- Build, install, configure, analyze, tune, and troubleshoot operating systems and applications to deliver optimum operation.
- Resolve complex system problems and provide consultation or training.
- Configure and assist in the design of system and network security.
- Manage hardware, software, and utilities for installation, modification, patching, and maintenance of the technology stack.
- Document and update IT infrastructure technology stack.
- Subject matter expert and point of escalation on complex issues.
- Monitor, analyze, manage, and recommend the best use of the technology resources.
- Maintain and enhance the operation monitoring system and proactively mitigate potential problems.
Skills:
- Windows Server, VMWare, Linux, Windows OS, and Mac OS.
- System network configuration, Windows DFS, and Linux FS.
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
- Office 365 and thorough knowledge of Team, Exchange Online, Intune, and Information Protection.
- PowerShell or Python.
- Networked environment - configure switch and maintain router/FW.
- Network storages - NetApp, Dell Unity, Dell Power Vault, Net Gear
- Knowledge of security protocols.
- Manage shared resources, collaborate, and perform moderate to complex tasks.
- Work independently and as a team member.
- Share knowledge and train others.
