Role
Eternal Ink is searching for a full-time career-oriented Color Chemist with experience in distribution/manufacturing (preferred). The Color Chemist works on different pigment projects from shade matching to formulation using skills to evaluate formulas for workability and performance ensuring customer requirements are met.
What you’ll be doing
- Formulate pigment based off existing formula guidelines and best practices
- Develop new formulations and guidelines if current do not pass customer criteria
- Develop DOEs (Design of Experiments) and making and testing pigment samples
- Assist and manage color evaluations with timely reporting and recordkeeping
- Support and provide guidance to production staff
- Perform QA oversite, testing and record keeping
- Support regulatory affairs by analyzing and tracking changes in domestic and international regulations
- Research and perform color theory related exercises
- Ensure all safety and health standards are met
- Communicate and collaborate regularly with R&D regarding problems or issues impacting production
- Maintain efficient workflow procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality
Is this role for you?
- Formal art/color theory education or experience
- Pigment Mixing experience
- Machine operation experience
- Color perception and color matching skills (Munsel Hue Color Test)
- Formulation skills in all color cosmetics technologies
- Raw material (pigment) knowledge
- Excellent organization skills with ability to manage priorities
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
- Clear communication
- XRite knowledge
