What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Specialist position at Nexus Foundation?
The Nexus Foundation is a nonprofit organization geared towards helping small businesses in rural America thrive. Historically, we help these businesses navigate complicated and detailed processes to apply for grants and government contracts to help their business grow, but we are always pushing the envelope to find more and better ways to support rural communities that go beyond this. At Nexus we CARE. This goes beyond the services we provide on the behalf of our clients, it goes into every level of our operation. To truly care, we believe every member of our team should fully embody the core values of Clear integrity, Accountability, Respect, and Empathy. By using these values as our foundation for development and growth, we are able to hold true to the small town work ethic and values we see so many of the businesses we help live by. If this aligns with your own moral compass and you have a desire to make a true difference in the lives of many, we encourage you to keep reading!
We are currently looking for a very personable and detail oriented individual to come join our awesome team. With some of the contracts we currently have in place, there is a lot of compliance we need to ensure our customers are aware of so that they fully understand what is being offered to them. This individual needs to have excellent conversational and people skills, as a lot of this job will be client focused. They also need to have a meticulous commitment to every tiny detail so that nothing is missed. This is an ON-SITE Position located in UTAH COUNTY, UT.
The day to day of this position will include a lot of interaction with small business owners in rural communities (via phone and zoom calls from our springville office). This individual will ensure that all applicants brought to us from our contracted clients are properly educated on the grant programs we provide assistance on, understand the grant and contract bidding processes, and that they have all their questions answered prior to submitting their applications/bids to the respective government entities. In addition to this, this person will facilitate clear and prompt communication between the applicant and our grant writing team to ensure that any questions or updates from their designated grant writer is addressed in a timely manner. Finally, this position does require a considerable amount of reading and continued education to ensure this individual stays constantly informed and up to date on all compliance standards for the programs we work with.
We want everyone to understand that this is a new position being created out of necessity, and there are small adjustments and tweaks that should be expected as we refine the role and responsibilities that go along with it, but if you are a passionate, detail oriented, and skilled communicator we would love to talk about having you on our team!
