Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Nexus Therapy is now hiring for a part-time teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing position for the remainder of the 23-24 school year. This position pays $65 per hour and you could bill for 4 hours per week! You would be working with one student near beautiful North Brookfield, Massachusetts. Must have a Massachusetts certificate for teaching students who are deaf / hard of hearing.

Duties:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and educational standards
- Utilize learning technology and resources to enhance instruction and student learning
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and student engagement
- Implement early intervention strategies to support students with learning difficulties or special needs
- Provide academic advising and support to students, including monitoring their progress and providing feedback
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and best practices
- Incorporate recreational therapy and physical education activities into the curriculum to promote student well-being

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid Massachusetts teaching certification/license as a teacher for the deaf / hard of hearing
- Experience in early childhood education or relevant teaching experience
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles and techniques
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for educating and inspiring students
