About this Position / Responsibilities

The selected candidate will become an integral member of the DC Access System (DCAS) Operations & Maintenance Team in the DC Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF).  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Executes test cases under varying circumstances
  • Documents and evaluates test results
  • Detects, logs, and reports program bugs and glitches
  • Tracks defects and helps troubleshoot errors
  • Reviews test procedures and develops test scripts
  • Partners with engineers to drive QA efforts
  • Conduct full cycle testing-Smoke, Unit, Functional, Integration, UAT and Regression in multiple environments
  • Contribute to business discussions about the project and user interfaces
  • Troubleshoot problems and provide customer support for application issues
  • Responsible for ensuring technical quality with new and existing implementations
  • Responsible for ensuring customer quality with new and existing implementations
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement and analysis in current environment
  • Responsible for analyzing current performance metrics, testing, and recommending improvements
  • Qualifications

    Job Qualification Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of QA testing experience
  • Experience with IBM Curam is preferred
  • Experience in Agile frameworks and regression testing desired
  • High attention to detail and solid analytical skills
  • Proficient in test management software
  • Good working knowledge of programming languages
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience creating and executing manual test cases and automated test scripts
  • Excellent written communication skills; must be able to produce reports, presentations, and technical documentation
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; must be equally comfortable having high level technical conversations with our Dev Leads or translating technical details for non-technical audiences
  • Experience with testing frameworks and tools - Selenium, Cucumber, Fitness, Pytest
  • Experience with testing of server and database layers
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
