POSITION SUMMARY

Accountable for completion of design tasks, Bill of Material releases and projects from concept to implementation in production. This will include all related design activities, calculations, communications, drawings, and bill of material.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Completes Engineering design tasks and project assignments which support production activities.
  • Coordinates own tasks to ensure schedule and dates are met considering vendor and production lead times. Includes maintaining task status and recording time speed on each task.
  • Creates Engineering designs that meet customer specifications, Technical Summaries, other contracts documents, and ensure designs are within manufacturing abilities.
  • Performs Engineering calculations and analysis to ensure compliance with design criteria and all applicable regulation.
  • Completes controlled testing of components and installations in order to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability and verify component fit.
  • Completes Engineering drawings and release documents in accordance with Engineering procedures.
  • Provides Engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required.
  • Interacts with vendors and customers on design related issues. Ensures that where applicable there are documents of vendor approval on new installations or applications.
  • Checks Engineering Documents, Instructions to Service, Shop Floor Instructions, and other documents as authorized by Group Leader.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Multiple positions located in Anniston, Alabama, St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Winnepeg, Canada.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-5 years' experience, registered EIT
  • Strong CAD/Unigraphics, Drafting, Visual Basic and PLC programming is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong teamwork, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
