What are the responsibilities and job description for the Turret operator position at NFI Industries?
Overview :
The Turret Truck Operator position handles all the put-away, replenishment, picking, and inventory control functions in the VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) sections of the warehouse.
This position requires extreme safety awareness, understanding of WMS as it relates to turret operator tasks, and requires a commitment to inventory accuracy.
This position reports to a Supervisor level position.
Responsibilities :
- Must successfully complete and pass the turret operator-training course, written exam, and hands on evaluation
- Completes pre-flight inspection prior to operating equipment
- Report safety concerns to management on a timely manner
- Follow all operating guidelines and safety expectations as they relate to the handling of the turret truck
- Maintains appropriate records and reports to guarantee performance expectations are met
- Assist with physical inventory as needed
- Completes daily production log accurately and submits report at the end of the shift to Warehouse Supervisors
- Brings down product into assigned work area and put away pallets as assigned
- Partners with Inventory Control and Quality Control to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Reports inventory discrepancies to Inventory Control team and assist in resolution
- Reports outbound discrepancies to the production team to maintain accurate daily output report
- Ensure the placement of all pallets within the racking does not impede the required 6 flue space
- Maintain the minimum KPI standards (PPH) pallet per hour productivity for the position after a reasonable training time expires
- Completes each task physically and systematically in a timely manner and in systematic order
- Operates under their assigned sign / log-on in their tasking group at all times
Qualifications :
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Warehouse experience required with powered equipment knowledge - Crown equipment experience preferred
- Previous experience in turret truck operation preferred
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to remain in standing position for long periods of time
- Minimal bending, stooping, squatting, climbing and crouching
- Use of feet and hands to drive and grab boxes or wrap pallets with shrink wrap as needed
- Must cautiously tolerate heights up to 40 feet without physical / mental restrictions
