Host
The Hostess / Host is to greet guests with a warm smile, inquire as to the number of guests in the party and seat them at a clean table.
The Hostess / Host must control the flow of guests entering the dining room. They should maintain excellent internal / external guest service.
Circulate through restaurant and coordinate activities of service personnel to provide fast and courteous service to guests.
Inspect and monitor cleanliness of room and compliance with safety and health code regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Greets guests immediately in a friendly manner upon arrival and acknowledges at departure.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and meets service cycle timing standards.
- Seats guests at clean, dry tables, utilizing proper seating rotation.
- Maintains guest waiting list and adheres to proper seating order procedures.
- Describes promotions while seating guests; takes initial beverage order.
- Attends to any other guest needs during the entire dining experience as warranted.
- Addresses complaints promptly in a courteous manner and notifies the manager of any issues.
- Maintains proper supply of clean menus.
- Demonstrates knowledge of station and floor breakdowns.
- Provides courteous service and is cordial to all team members and guests.
- Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
