Job Summary:

The Director of Talent Acquisition will develop and execute broad-based talent strategies, ensuring a total talent solution for the business. The position will collaborate with leadership, hiring managers, and HR colleagues to shape the recruitment strategy to attract, assess and determine top talent.

The role will interact with all levels of leadership to ensure the Talent Acquisition strategy supports rapid and significant growth over the next few years. This is a highly visible role both inside and outside of our organization, and this individual must be an initiative-taker with a sense of urgency.

The position leads the full life cycle of recruiting for corporate and field positions with emphasis on leveraging and building relationships in local communities and colleges along with the Operations leaders in driving the strategy. You are agile in nature and able to use critical thinking skills to learn new functional areas quickly, allowing you to work seamlessly across business-specialized functions and regions.

Within our organization this individual must be a self-starter with a sense of urgency. The role requires you to effectively build relationships at all levels of the organization while providing exceptional support to our leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

Building relationships: Establish and maintain an in-depth understanding of the organization and the business, in the interest of building effective and productive working relationships with internal stakeholders, at all levels of the organization, to collaborate on business strategies.

Communications: Advanced verbal and written skills. Ability to effectively communicate, plan, and execute communications clearly, concisely, and sustainably.

Program management: Design, implement and deliver an effective talent strategy to source and attract the highest caliber talent to support our company growth by partnering with all stakeholders.

Workforce plans: Create, develop, and implement workforce plans and report on key recruiting metrics to measure team effectiveness and provide data driven, actionable insights.

Emerging trends: Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and discretion and utilize bold creativity to apply to changing needs and situations.

Salaried leadership tools: Create an end-to-end tool kit that includes intake calls with hiring managers to determine the hiring profile, job requirements, selection criteria, and calibration for vacant positions.

Onboarding: Ability to facilitate an onboarding presentation in a group setting thru effective communication and organizational skills. Support associates with any onboarding forms, once onboarded.

Functional Liaison: Function as point of contact with internal departments to determine recruitment needs.

Recruiting tools: Use various methods, including social media and innovative technology, to recruit and network with potential candidates.

Collaborative partnership: Build customer-focused relationships with hiring managers and HR Business Partners.

Record automation: Maintain accurate records utilizing internal proprietary programs. Utilize technology and introduce new innovative solutions.

Candidate experience: Ensure an impressive candidate experience at every touch point.

Community programs: Create programs to support the staffing strategy, such as college recruiting and internships. Collaborate with recruiters to develop monthly events. Assist in building strong relationships with diverse organizations for our recruiting team.

Leadership responsibilities:

Weekly: Compile overall staffing scorecard report to include open positions, upcoming positions, filled and closed.

Weekly: Review compliance report with the Corporate Compliance Department and roll results up to the DVP of Talent Acquisition.

Weekly: Leads the team call to ensure full transparency of the business operations, including note-taking and follow-ups, along with the DVP of Talent Acquisition and Sourcing.

Monthly: Reviews and provides the turnover analysis for geographic area (e.g., Market Analysis)

Monthly: Review Recruiter KPI’s with DVP of Talent Acquisition

Budget and forecasting: Create and manage the function expenses supporting talent acquisition and sourcing.

Ongoing: Creates and manages wage analysis for selected geography to support the current and future state of the business. Stay well informed on emerging markets and trends.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent progression in the recruiting function. Certifications a plus.

10 years of progressive recruiting experience across varied industries. Prior experience with 3PL, Retail, Distribution, Reverse Logistics/E-Commerce, and/or startup experience a plus. Experience implementing change in a dynamic and growth environment - a plus.

Must be able to provide support on nights, weekends & holidays.

Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills. Bilingual preferred (English & Spanish).

Plan and lead organization design projects to streamline and implement new structures, roles, and/or processes that increase speed and efficiency and support rapidly shifting business demands.

Assess organization, defining talent gaps and proposing solutions that support client business objectives.

Develop and execute a lifecycle approach to talent management focused on forecasting, staffing, onboarding, talent mobility and retention, leveraging rigorous workforce analytics and insights.

Collaborate with Operations on Office, with a strong focus on acquiring and retaining top talent and on building an internal & external pipeline for future needs.

Ability to travel up to 60% or more depending on business needs.

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience with full cycle recruiting from requisition creation to offer stage.

Ability to build credibility with diverse levels of management up to EVP level to consult and influence.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to stay organized with an elevated level of detail.

Understanding individual and organizational dynamics facilitates talent movement into and throughout the organization. Collaborating with leaders on the development of their high-potential talent ensures a strong bench.

Develop thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion in talent attraction, development, and retention.

The associate will perform their duties in an office environment, walking in a warehouse environment, and in an external building environment. Associates in these positions frequently operate a computer, read, write, and interact with others in person, over the phone, and via other devices. They move about within the office & warehouse to access file cabinets, documents, office machinery, and other equipment. The associate is also occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
