Production Control Manager

Occupational Summary:
The Production Control Manager is responsible for production control, planning and work order management including direct supervision of these groups. Also responsible to support NHBB's commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, continuous improvement and on-time delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversight of the following areas: Component stock room, Material Handling, Tote wash (Peterborough and Laconia only), and Shipping/Receiving including budget management, job assignments, meeting goals, performance and attendance management, hiring, disciplinary action, professional development and succession planning
Develop positive working relationships with customers
Be responsive to customer inquiries and attend meetings with customers as needed
Manages the activities of the Production Planning team to include:
Develop a master manufacturing schedule which effectively utilizes the plant's capacity
Define plant's detailed production schedules, in accordance with required volumes, plant capacity, information availability/accuracy/timeliness and material availability
Plan and prepares manufacturing production schedules, assesses changes and improves processes as necessary
Inventory control ownership
Establishes processes for production planning activities to meet established production specifications and schedules, including volume, cost and waste targets while maintaining established quality standards
Review and maintain Master Production Schedule
Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed
Liaising with different departments and communicating the needs of the Production Team to the appropriate managers
Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems
Lead an environment that supports continuous improvements (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream mapping and other tools of lean manufacturing)
Meet with employees regularly to discuss their performance, with formal written performance reviews completed at least annually
Job Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems is essential
Expert with MS Excel
Demonstrated leadership skills

Ability and willingness to jump in and assist in a variety of positions in the manufacturing and shipping process to meet targeted goal
Education/Experience Required:
- Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in production control
- 7-10 years' directly related experience in manufacturing environment
- 5-7 years' management experience
- 4 year degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or closely related field
- APICS certification preferred
Other Requirements:
- Possess a sense of urgency
- Able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization
- Perform cycle counts as required
Note: Physical job requirements may include
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations' facilities
