Occupational Summary:
Scheduler I is primarily responsible for coordinating the scheduling and/or flow of product starting from raw materials. This includes scheduling, expediting, and interfacing with manufacturing and quality departments.
Essential Functions:
Help facilitate management’s needs and priorities
Perform all duties as listed in one of the below major functional areas: Applicants are not expected to be proficient in all areas below. Training will be provided.
Shop Scheduling:
- Work with manufacturing personnel to optimize the production in work centers
- Work with engineering to process MDR’s, DMR’s to assure continuing product flow
- Perform splitting of lots when needed
- Perform transactions in MAPICS
- Work with Planners to understand issues and recommend resolutions
- Perform cycle counts as needed
- Assure the material flow by understanding work centers and capabilities
- Offload work from work centers to others to assure smooth and timely product flow
Assembly Scheduling:
- Work with engineering to process MDR’s, DMR’s to assure continuing product flow
- Perform splitting of lots when needed
- Perform transactions in MAPICS
- Work with Planners to understand issues and recommend resolutions
- Perform cycle counts as needed
- Assure the material flow by understanding work centers and capabilities
AND:
Perform all duties as listed in all of the below major functional areas: All applicants will be evaluated based on current skill level and ability to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas within 90 days of hire.
Material Handling:
- Sort and deliver received goods to appropriate departments
- Safe operation of PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle)
- Perform cycle counts as required
- MRO stockroom knowledge/coverage
Ball Crib Area:
- Receiving and issuing of materials in either the Ball Crib
- Utilize MAPICS system for parts transactions
- Perform cycle counts as required
Component Crib Area:
- Receiving and issuing of materials in the Component Crib
- Utilize MAPICS system for parts transactions
- Perform cycle counts as required
Job Skills:
- Computer proficiency in Office; especially Word & Excel, as well as AS400
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Requirements:
Education:
High School diploma required
2 years of post secondary education in Business Administration or Manufacturing preferred
APICS training or certification preferred
Experience:
Demonstrated proficiency in the ball crib, component crib and material handling
Minimum of three (3) years of NHBB production control experience is preferred
Demonstrated high proficiency level in all applicable functional areas
Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to work independently without supervision and apply critical thinking to problem solving
Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines
Ability to coordinate work flow and identify and respond to priorities
Be attentive to details
Excellent interpersonal skills
Other Requirements:
Possess a sense of urgency
Able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization
Able to lift 40 lbs
